you, if the card is not secure. Few months back, I heard about
the loss of Rs. 60000 from the credit card of my friend. On the same day, he did couple of shopping with the card. But the tension started around midnight as soon as he started getting SMS about the continuous usage of card for internet transactions.. It was really a nightmare for him after he got the SMS about mis-utilization.

This blog is also in continuation of my previous blog about the inputs from banks about credit card. Recently I got to know that ICICI bank credit card has an option to reduce our card limit, temporarily, based on our need. For this, just need to make a call to ICICI bank call centre to make the request. So if somebody is trying to misuse the credit card without our knowledge, they will be able to use the reduced temporary limit only. When you reduce the card limit, fix a limit of your average monthly usage.
If, due to some reasons, there is a need for more
money from the credit card, just again need to make a call to call centre to
increase the limit. But it requires 24 hours for effecting the change to
increased limit. For verification, we need to provide the details like address
or some details filled in the application form, to the executive, which is even needed for reducing the card limit. Temporary
reduction will not affect the approved card limit.
