How to Avoid Paying Extra than the MRP???

Many of us are reluctant to ask for bill while bying something. Now a day’s be it in big or small city,
you can see outlets for different products and services where the stalls will be running by a team, not by the owner. I feel that, based on the experience by the owner, now a days we can see a message in front of cash counter to collect to your bill, if not received the bill, collect the reward money. Let me brief an experience which I got few months back while on the drive to my native. We have decided to take Channapattana – Bandipur forest route for a different driving experience, but on the way, we thought to buy a mobile car charger as the battery was drastically draining due to the usage of Google Map. I was searching for a good outlet and finally found a good mobile outlet at Channapattana, which has outlets across India.


When I got my branded mobile car charger and they told me Rs. 300 as the cost. I tried my best to bargain, but couldn’t success. I tried my best to read the MRP, but couldn’t identify due to the huge text written along with MRP in a very small font. After paying the money, I have asked for the bill. And they were not ready to give saying that product cover can be used for warranty. When I forced them, I got it and written as just Rs. 240 and got Rs. 60 back. I was shocked!!! As I was busy to go, I didn’t ask them the reason. I understood later that Rs. 240 was the selling price and they cannot write the bill for more than that.

Same experience I got long back while doing the smoke test for my vehicle. The person who did the activity told me Rs. 20 extra than the actual charge, but when I asked for the bill, he couldn’t do anything other than collecting the actual amount. I have noticed that there also the owner was not available.

And I need to note here that in every job there will be few people to spoil the name, so it never meant that all the people in that job are wrong, but as a customer, we need to ensure that we are not losing our money. So take care!!!
